The PACE University Construction Management Program

construction management

In the dynamic world of construction, staying ahead of the curve is essential.

Knowledge, expertise, and a commitment to excellence are the driving forces behind successful construction projects.

Recognizing this, The Best Shades proudly shares its involvement in a groundbreaking program that promises to elevate the industry standard and foster continuous growth and improvement.

A Collaborative Effort for Excellence

The PACE University Construction Management program is an initiative born from the collaboration between RASC (The Regional Alliance for Small Contractors) and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Hosted by PACE University, this program has earned its reputation as a transformative force within the construction industry.

Sponsored by The Port Authority of NY & NJ, the program awards a certificate in Construction Management and qualifies for continuing education hours (NYS Approval #C01420).

A Virtual Learning Experience That Rivals Tradition

In a world where virtual experiences are becoming the norm, the PACE University Construction Management program offers a live virtual experience that rivals traditional instructor-led training.

The program’s objective is clear: to present and discuss construction project management in the field comprehensively. It caters to a diverse audience, including contractors, engineers, designers, and various professionals within the construction industry.

Building Blocks of Knowledge

The heart of this program lies in its curriculum, which covers fundamental aspects of Construction Management. Participants embark on a journey through four core pillars:

1. Blueprint Reading:

Understanding the language of construction begins with the blueprints. This segment provides an overview of blueprint reading and dives into the intricacies of construction working drawings.

It covers architectural and engineering drawings, decoding symbols, schedules, specifications, and abbreviations—essential skills for any construction professional.

2. Estimating:

Participants are introduced to the theory, procedures, and practices of estimating. They explore different types of estimates, review documents and specifications, and learn the art of quantity take-off from construction drawings—a vital skill in accurate project budgeting.

3. Project Scheduling:

Modern project management principles are at the core of effective project execution. This part of the program delves into project planning, deliverable sequencing, cost estimation, execution, monitoring, control, risk management, and analysis. It equips participants with the tools needed to steer projects to successful completion.

4. Contract Administration:

Participants also gain a solid foundation in contract administration, delving into parties’ rights and obligations, unit determination, representation proceedings, and the interpretation of contract language, among other concepts related to contract administration.

Empowering the Industry, One Learner at a Time

The PACE University Construction Management program isn’t just a learning experience; it’s an opportunity to empower the construction industry’s professionals.

As The Best Shades celebrates its involvement in this transformative initiative and our CEO’s certification as the completion of this program, we recognize that an investment in knowledge pays the best interest.

Together with our fellow participants, we look forward to unlocking new possibilities and driving the construction industry toward new horizons of excellence.

With RASC, The Port Authority of NY & NJ, and PACE University at the helm, this program promises a brighter, more knowledgeable future for all involved.
